XR Games is an award-winning game development studio specialising in immersive AR and VR content.

We make fun games people love to play and talk about. Led by a team with big-game experience at studios like Rockstar, EA, Codemasters, Sumo, Team 17 and Dubit, we've created games for some of the world's biggest brands, including Sony Pictures, Rovio, Dreamworks, BBC and Lego.

We’re looking for an experienced Producer to join the team in-house.

You'll join the effort of forming passionate cross-functional teams in crafting incredible experiences for players. You will take the reins of the content roadmap and be the main point of contact between the company and our external partners, always advocating for the best value for the product.


Objectives for the role:

  • Provide overall project direction and ensure that the project’s goals, objectives and milestones are consistently achieved and never compromised.

    • We regularly send deliverables to our 1st party vendors - you’re responsible for their safe delivery as well.

  • Maintain and be responsible for the project schedule, including task breakdowns and assignments.

    • Our projects run best when everyone is pulling together, and you’ll be helping to hand out the ropes.

  • Head up and take ownership of internal and external project reporting, both to stakeholders and to the team itself.

    • You should be a one-stop shop for project knowledge, from the strategic view all the way down to the weeds.

  • Drive Agile rituals such as dailies, organise retrospectives and planning sessions, and encourage the team’s continuous Agile adoption. Be seen and keen to remove the team’s blocks.

    • We work in an iterative way at XR Games, and you’ll be championing that as we go.

  • Become the primary force for change and improvement in the studio, helping to implement or initiate new processes as needed.

    • We want to deliver high-quality products on time and on budget - this will be your mission too, and you’ll use your experience and expertise as tools to keep things cutting edge.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage change – ensure project scope is adhered to, by controlling feature creep, ensuring the project is delivered in accordance with expectations and managing project budget changes if necessary.

  • Identify and resolve conflicts between schedule, budget and design goals.

  • Continuously assess risk and keep the scope of the project in line with budget and schedule.

  • Manage day to day communication of matters regarding schedule, budget, change and risk with the client and Head of Production and make recommendations accordingly.

  • Manage communication of project progress to the Head of Production and other Senior Management members.

  • Maintain close communication with the’ heads of’ and provide team members with material and technical support as needed.

  • Ensure that each member of the team is working from a tracked schedule and has a strong sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability for the quality and timeliness of their contribution.

  • Ensure excellent communication, positive working relationships and teamwork within the development team and across disciplines.

  • Keep abreast of current trends in the marketplace especially with regard to similar and/or competitive products.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of working in a production role within the videogames industry.

  • Experience in managing schedules, milestones and deliveries of multiple departments within a game team.

  • Experience in tracking budgets and resources in game projects.

  • Experience working with Agile, as well as other project management methodologies like waterfall.

  • Experience working with project management tools such as Jira, DevOps or similar.

  • Experience creating product roadmaps and production reports.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working with external stakeholders and partners.

  • Based or willing to move to Leeds, UK. You must be eligible to work in the UK.

  • Experience working on shipped VR titles
