XR Games team members announced as finalists for this year’s Game Dev Heroes awards

XR Games is proud to announce that three members of the team have been shortlisted in the 2022 Game Dev Heroes awards.

Taking place during Develop:Brighton conference week in July, Game Dev Heroes celebrates the people behind the scenes of the games industry. The awards cover all disciplines within the industry; from brilliant programmers and resourceful support staff, to inspiring management and positive role models.

Congratulations to our three amazing finalists!

  • Emily Davison: finalist in the Art + Animation category

  • Darren Eggerton: finalist in the QA category

  • Grace Meyrick: finalist in the ‘Unsung Hero’ category

And here are a few words from the trio.

First up we have Emily Davison, who works as a 3D Artist here at XR Games. Emily has been with XR Games for three years now, and to see her receiving strong recognition for her work has been so rewarding for the team.

Emily says “I'm honestly just super honoured that anyone thought to nominate me! The art team are a great bunch of folk and it's incredibly flattering to think they'd think highly of me.

Next we have our Quality Assurance Manager Darren Eggerton; a finalist in the QA category.

Darren has been with us for a bit more than three years now, and we’re delighted to see his hard work and constant achievements within QA being recognised.

Darren says: “It’s been brilliant to grow the QA team at XR Games over the past year, and we’re doing our best work, so for our efforts to be recognised amongst our peers in the industry is amazing.”

We’re also super delighted to see Executive Assistant Grace Meyrick being recognised for her talent and hard work by becoming a finalist in the Unsung Hero category.

Grace has only been with XR Games since January 2022, and she’s already had a huge impact on the business. To be making serious moves in the industry with this nomination is incredible.

Grace says “I've had a fantastic first few months at XR Games, so it's a real surprise to be nominated! It’s amazing that my work to support my colleagues has been recognised, even in my short time here." XR Games Founder and CEO Bobby Thandi had the following to say about the team’s award nominations.

To see the incredible efforts of our team being recognised in this way is a testament to their passion, creativity and dedication. The entire team is constantly striving for greatness, and it’s a joy to see them all develop and for their efforts to be seen by their peers within the industry!

We would once again like to congratulate Emily, Darren and Grace for their award nominations, and we’d like to thank the team at Game Dev Heroes for recognising their hard work not only in the studio, but within the industry as a whole.
